There were a number of top class performances that make out team of the week for this weekend. Here is the team of the week for EPL for the 29th round of fixtures:
Formation: 4-4-2
Goal Keeper:
David Ospina (Arsenal):
He made as many as 9 saves to keep the Gunners in the hunt right till the end against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the 2-2 draw.
Defense:
Hector Bellerin (Arsenal):
The pacey Spaniard was superb at the back against Tottenham on the night and also provided the assist for Ramsey’s goal.
Virgil van Djik (Southampton):
The Southampton defender smashed home a stoppage time equalizer to give his side a point to cap off a superb display at the back against Sunderland.
Dejan Lovren (Liverpool):
Hardly put a foot wrong against Crystal Palace as he dominated his box in the air and showed why he is still rated as a very good defender in the Premier League.
Charlie Daniels (AFC Bournemouth):
Apart from scoring the last goal in the 3-1 victory Newcastle United, Daniels was superb at the back making it hard for the Magpies to create anything in the final third.
Mid-field:
Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City):
The Leicester City starlet was once again un-playable against the Baggies as he scored a stunning goal to set up the 1-0 victory and take his team 5 points clear at the top of the table.
Dimitri Payet (West Ham):
Gave Everton defenders a hard time taking a shot every chance he gets as he ran the game in the final third and picked up a goal and an assist to finish off the late comeback at the Goodison Park.
Gylfi Sigurddson (Swansea City):
Scored the only goal against Norwich City in a fine performance where he was a constant menace in the final third for the visiting Norwich City side.
David Silva (Manchester City):
Helped the Citizens to a 4-0 rout against Aston Villa as he set up two of those goals in a performance that suggested that he is back to his best.
Attack:
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City):
Missed a penalty but scored a brace in a game he seemed to enjoy against the struggling Aston Villa side this weekend.
Josh King (AFC Bournemouth):
Had his 28th-minute cross diverted past Newcastle keeper Rob Elliot for a goal and then scored again 20 minutes from time in a magnificent performance against the Magpies.
