BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will meet National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) Head of Cricket Rahul Dravid on Thursday in Mumbai. Both the former Indian cricketer will discuss the injury management of the players.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was detected with an injury ahead of the Bangladesh series. He went to NCA under the rehabilitation period and returned to the squad ahead of the T20I series against West Indies. But, it is an astonishing factor that he resurfaced with an injury before the ODI series against the Caribbean. It has put a question mark on the NCA’s injury management.
Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah have also withdrawn from the Academy. While both the players have returned to the national squad, Ganguly will discuss with Dravid about the problems being faced during the recovery period.
Apart from Rahul Dravid’s meeting, Sourav Ganguly will also focus on the appointment of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). Earlier, the former Indian captain opined that he would discuss the conflict issue rule which had also troubled Ganguly.
“It is one thing to keep talking about conflict and another thing to act on it when anomalies are pointed out. Both Sourav and Rahul have wrongly suffered because of conflict allegations in the past. Rahul’s alleged conflict when he joined NCA was never a conflict,” a source said.

“Sourav has time and again pointed out how Clause 38 (conflict rules) in the constitution needs amendment. The truth is, when such serious instances are ignored (read: NCA), then things that are not important also get blown out of proportion,” source was as quoted by the Times of India.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has declined for the role in CAC, and as the report suggests, VVS Laxman has also stepped back from the duty.
