Recently retired, Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has revealed the most memorable moment of his career. Pathan scalped 301 International wickets but believes his maiden wicket is the most memorable moment for his career. The left-handed all-rounder had made his debut back in 2003 against Australia at Adelaide. Pathan’s maiden Test wicket was the big wicket of Mathew Hayden.
The southpaw pacer didn’t have the best of debuts as he leaked 160 runs and could only take one wicket. However, India had managed to win that match after heroics from Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and Ajit Agarkar. Dravid had scored 233 and 72, Laxman scored 148 whereas Agarkar scalped six wickets in the second essay.

Pathan took 301 International wickets.
On the other hand, Pathan had some sweet memories on the Australian tour of 2008. The all-rounder was awarded the Man of the Match for his all-round performance in Perth. The left-hander scalped five wickets in the Test match and scored crucial knocks of 28 and 46 in each of the innings. Pathan said that this performance was also his favorite memory in his career.
Pathan said as quoted by IANS, “It all started in Australia for me. The most memorable moment was getting my first wicket and helping India win a Test match in Australia after 21 years. Winning the Test in Perth and being named the Man of the Match is also a favorite memory for me.”
On the other hand, Australia is all set to tour India for the three-match ODI series. Pathan added Indian cricket has taken giant strides in the recent past and has great talent in the country.

“In the past, that wasn’t the case because they were doing really well. We were trying to match that level. I feel that Indian cricket is a notch ahead in terms of talent, in terms of cricket and in terms of confidence,” Star Sports expert Irfan Pathan said.
“The only thing that will make it equal is the kind of pitches we are going to play in Australia because we do not have experience playing on those hard and bouncy pitches,” said Pathan.
India and Australia will play the first ODI at Wankhede Stadium on 16th January. Before that, India will play the third T20I against Sri Lanka at Pune on 10th January.
