New Zealand Fan Chants Bharat Mata Ki Jai During 3rd T20I Against India- Watch Video 1

The third T20I between India and New Zealand went down to the wire and a Super Over had to be conducted to compute the result of the game. India prevailed on the day to hand New Zealand yet another defeat in the Super Over. Black Caps have now lost five out of six Super Overs they have been part of in the shortest format.

While the players had a hard day on the field, the fans were enjoying every moment of the game. A video surfaced online after the third T20I where a kiwi fan can be seen chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The young fan passed the test and spoke fluently in the second attempt. Here’s the video –

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul provided a solid start by scoring 89 runs in the first nine overs. Hamish Bennett pulled the things back for the home team with twin wickets of Rohit and Shivam Dube in his comeback over but Captain Virat Kohli stepped up and scored 38 off 27 as India finished on 179/5 in 20 overs.

Skipper Kane Williamson took the charge for New Zealand and put his team on the brink of a win despite little contributions from other batsmen. The home team was favourite to win after a six from Williamson on the first ball of the last over but they managed only two runs on the final four deliveries.

India’s lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah had a bad day in office as he went for 45 runs in his four overs. He also gave 17 runs in the Super Over.

Chasing the win, Indian batsmen managed eight runs in the first four balls but Rohit snatched a win with two back to back sixes on the final two deliveries off Tim Southee. With a win, India also registered their first-ever T20 series victory against New Zealand Down Under.

The fourth T20I of the series takes place in Wellington on Friday.
