In the ongoing T20I series, Virat Kohli’s men have handled the pressure quite well in the 3rd and 4th T20I match against New Zealand. Former Australian cricketer Ian Chappell said that Kohli has brilliantly led his team under pressure. He also believes skipper’s winning mentality has helped his deputy Rohit Sharma to cultivate same nature. Chappell further reckoned Kohli has inspired many with his leadership qualities.
In the third T20I match, India’s opener Rohit Sharma hit a couple of maximums in the super over to lead the team in a spectacular way to lead series 4-0. Also, Chapell opined that Rohit has the ability to finish off the games they way Kohli has been doing for India.

“The fact that he has “finished off” so many of India’s victory opportunities has been an inspiration to other players to adopt a similar mentality. Rohit Sharma, in particular, has benefited from Kohli’s example, and hit two sixes in the first Super Over win against New Zealand this week were a classic example of how self-belief has spread through the team,” Chappell wrote in his column for ESPNCricinfo.
Virat’s Kohli’s remarkable leadership winning hearts:
In the last two games, India and New Zealand fought in the super over to decide the winner. Virat Kohli and Co. pulled off the victory from the Blackcaps in both the thrilling super overs. In the 3rd T20I match, Rohit’s six led India to win the game while in the fourth T20I match, Kohli struck the boundary to register back to back victories.

Also, Kohli’s captaincy was appreciated in both the matches at Hamilton and Wellington. Under his captaincy, India has first time won the T20I series against New Zealand in New Zealand. After losing the World Cup semifinals against Kiwis, India has brilliantly played against one of the best teams.
While New Zealand is going under a hard-luck. In the last seven months, the Kane Williamson-led side has ended up losing all the five tied matches.
