After a victory in Tests and a drawn ODI series, England will look to stamp their domination over the home team in the shortest format. There is no Joe Root for England in T20Is as he doesn’t fit the ball in this format. The visitors are already without Jofra Archer, who was rued out after the opening Test of the series.

South Africa continue to be without Faf du Plesis, who was rested for ODIs as well. He hasn’t played a T20I since March 2019. Quinton de Kock will continue to lead them in shortest format. The three T20Is will be played on February 12, 14 and 16 in East London, Durban and Centurion, respectively.
Conditions –
The slow pitch of the Buffalo Park means the captain winning the toss would want to bat first as the track might get slower as the game will progress.
Here is the likely playing XI of both the teams –
South Africa:
Making his return for the first time after World Cup 2019, Dale Steyn is an automatic selection. He is raring to go on his comeback and will lead the pace attack. De Kock will have a tough task to pick the best playing XI from the number of options available.
Likely playing XI: Quinton de Kock, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, JJ Smuts, Heinrich Klaasen, Dwaine Pretorius David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dale Steyn, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lungi Ngidi
England:
It remains to be seen whether Jos Buttler will open the innings in this format with Jason Roy or will Jonny Bairstow kick off the proceedings with Roy. Both Buttler and Roy were rested for the T20I series against New Zealand. Mark Wood looks set to play his first T20I after 11 months.
Likely playing XI: Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
