There goes a lot of hard work before a player becomes successful at the international platform. As in every game, you need to evolve to be in the competition otherwise, you might lose your place. Indian cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar had to go through the same phase where he worked on his technique to prove himself to be dangerous.

In cricket, pitches around the world have always something different to offer. Fast bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar should tick all the boxes to dismantle the opposition bowlers. The pacer had a brilliant start of his career as he picked the most crucial wickets with his swing, in which Bhuvi is a master. However, he didn’t have much pace, which has not given him much success in the foreign land.

And then the Uttar Pradesh player realised that he needs to work on his pace. While talking in Cricbuzz, he opened up on how he improved his pace.

“At some stage, you realize you need to change something, and I felt I needed to increase my pace. I didn’t have that rhythm in my bowling and things weren’t going well. But then I began training and that helped me. Unknowingly, my pace increased,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Further, he explained that as he was trying to bowl at the pace for the first time, he had to deal with the injuries and had to go on with the game.

“I struggled for one or two series because I wasn’t used to bowling at that pace. So the ball wouldn’t swing. Because I wasn’t used to it, the body felt an extra load and I had to deal with a few injuries and niggles. But in the time off, I began to figure things out in terms of what was happening and how I could come back from it.” he explained.

Bhuvneshwar was recently out of the action because of sports hernia after which he underwent surgery. Now, the player has fully recovered and is back in the team.
