The veteran Harbhajan Singh expressed to Rohit Sharma, during the live session on Instagram, that the current Indian team is overdependent on Virat Kohli and the limited-overs vice-captain Rohit. The duo also talked about various subjects related to the game and also have some light conversation.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the two crucial players in the top-order batting who set the game on India’s favour. They both have played uncountable match-winning knocks for the team and have won the game single-handedly. Therefore, Harbhajan feels that the current Indian team lacks in self-confidence and belief and is overly dependent on the Rohit and Virat.

“The current Indian side is dependent on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The side does not have much confidence, there are good players but once Virat and Rohit get out, 70 percent of matches we tend to lose. There is a lack of self-belief,” said Harbhajan.

The veteran off-spinner expressed that India faced the same problem in the semi-final against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019. In that match, the rare collapse of top-order had costed defeat to India by 18 runs. Harbhajan believes that Team India needs to find more match-winners other than Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

“In our times, we had a lot of trust and belief. If the top three of the current Indian side are dismissed, then we have problems in winning matches, you need to find more watch winners. You had a good World Cup, but then you lose in the semi-finals, if you had 3-4 guys performing, we would have won the World Cup,” Harbhajan added.

Earlier, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, in conversation with Rohit, opined that the current Indian team has a dearth of role model, and only Virat and the hitman are the two seniors who play constantly.
