Former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, turned 48 years old on Wednesday. On the special occasion, the cricket universe took to social media to express their heartfelt messages for the former Indian skipper. Although Sourav Ganguly could not lead team India to an ICC title or help them achieve the first position in the ICC Test Team Rankings, there can be no denying the fact that Ganguly brought a revolution in Indian captaincy.

Ganguly reposed faith in young players and they eventually went on to pay the price in the latter stages of their career. During his tenure, Sourav Ganguly has led Team India in 146 ODIs and 49 Tests, out of which the team emerged victorious on 76 and 21 occasions respectively.

Happy Birthday Dada: Cricket Fraternity Come Together To Wish Sourav Ganguly A Happy Birthday

First up, it was the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who built a plethora of great partnerships with Sourav. Sachin wished to continue to rise in bond off the field as well.

Next up, it was the skipper of the India National Cricket Team, Virat Kohli, who expressed his greetings to Sourav Ganguly and wished him a happy birthday.

Robust Indian pacer, Ishant Sharma, shared a sweet message for Sourav Ganguly as he wished Dada a very happy birthday in Bengali, Sourav’s native language.

Veteran Indian middle-order batsman, Suresh Raina, then followed and posted a picture with Sourav and wished his former skipper a very happy birthday.

India’s ace off-spinner, R Ashwin, also took to Twitter to express his wishes for the former Indian skipper and the current BCCI President, Ganguly.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) did not hold back and posted a collage of Dada’s iconic pictures and moments to wish him a great birthday.

Veteran Indian legend and Sourav’s partner in crime for a very long time, VVS Laxman, also shared a couple of pictures and wished him success and love in life ahead.

Next up, it is the Indian vice-captain in the Tests, Ajinkya Rahane, who took to Twitter to express his emotions for the BCCI President and wished him a happy birthday.

Veteran Indian commentator and a first-class legend, Aakash Chopra, also took to Twitter to express his wishes for Captain Ganguly.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise in the IPL, shared a picture of Shahrukh Khan, the co-owner and Ganguly to wish the latter a happy birthday.

Indian pace ace, Mohammed Shami, also took to Twitter to congratulate Ganguly as he turns another leaf in life.

India’s new number four in the ODIs, Shreyas Iyer, also shared his wishes for Ganguly with a sweet picture of both of them.

Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan, also had a message in store for the Dada of Indian cricket as he took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards the former Indian skipper.

Veteran Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh didn’t hold back his emotions and wished the captain that brought him into the Indian team a happy birthday.

Veteran Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, one of Sourav Ganguly’s admirers on the global stage, wished him with a special video message on Twitter.

The Sultan of Multan, Virender Sehwag, also wished his former skipper a very happy birthday.
