RCB's Yuzvendra Chahal Has Travelled To UAE To Play IPL 2020 1

Yuzvendra Chahal, the tweaker of RCB, has travelled to the UAE — to participate in the upcoming IPL 2020. He recently posted a charming photo with his fiancee, Dhanashree Verma, on Instagram. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner had announced his engagement to choreographer Dhanashree Verma earlier this month on the micro photo-blogging website, Instagram. He shared photos with fans during the ceremony on social media.

Yuzvendra Chahal faced difficulty in parting with her as he captioned: “You’ve stolen a pizza of my heart”. His fiancee was also fast to reply by posting: “I agree”, along with a couple of emojis — a pizza slice emoji and a red heart emoji.

Chahal is also a former chess player who is in the RCB team since 2014. After performing well for the franchise, he got selected in the Indian team in 2016 and has not looked back.

RCB Arrives In UAE

According to BCCI’s protocols, all these players will have to strictly undergo a seven-day quarantine, and will also have to return three negative COVID-19 tests before they can start their training. Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the key members of RCB’s bowling line-up for several years now and has proved his mettle by performing on a tough M Chinnaswamy wicket in Bengaluru.

Six franchises have already reached the UAE, where the tournament will start on September 19. RCB had shared a photo of their members aboard a flight to the UAE.

Despite the mask on their faces to prevent spreading of Covid-19, Yuzvendra Chahal was easily recognizable in that picture for occupying one of the front seats.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli was missing but by the evening he also announced his arrival in Dubai through a social media post that he captioned: “Hello Dubai!” The franchises who have overseas stars like AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn and Chris Morris also joined their teammates in the UAE on Saturday.

RCB Want To Lift IPL Trophy For First Time

RCB have never won the IPL despite reaching the final twice in last 12 editions. They finished at the bottom in 2019 points table, after winning only five league matches out of 14.

With IPL being shifted out of India, Kohli and his team would have to adapt to the situations besides hoping to reverse their fortunes and get their hands on the coveted IPL trophy for the first time and to make that possible they would want him to lead their spin-attack.

The team finished last in 2017 and 2019 and looks forward to the likes of Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Aaron Finch, Moeen Ali, Parthiv Patel, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, Chris Morris, Dale Steyn, Kane Richardson, Mohammad Siraj and Navdeep Saini.

RCB were runners up in 2009,2011 and 2016. Virat Kohli performed extraordinarily with the bat in 2016 scoring 973 runs which was the highest by any batsman in that season. He scored 4 centuries in that season to lead his team to runners-up. He is one of the leading scorers of IPL accumulating 5412 runs in 177 matches averaging 37.85 an has 5 centuries before IPL 2020.

Yuzvendra Chahal has played in 84 IPL matches featuring initially in Mumbai Indians squad before turning out for RCB where he has picked up 100 wickets averaging a healthy competitive 23.18. His average is less than 26 in both ODI and T20I which is extraordinary for a bowler, particularly for a spinner.

He has featured in 42 T20I picking up 55 wickets averaging 24.35 and in 52 ODIs he has picked up 91 wickets averaging 25.84. In the 2018 edition, he became leading wicket-taker for RCB going past Vinay Kumar as he was brought back by the Bangalore based franchise through the right to match for 6 crores.
