Delhi Capitals (DC) has roped in former Australian pacer, Ryan Harris as the bowling coach for the upcoming IPL edition in the UAE. The Shreyas Iyer-led DC has already reached Dubai and Harris is accepted to join them soon ahead of the commencement of the league from 19th September.
Earlier, former Australian cricketer, James Hopes served as a bowling coach for Delhi Capitals between 2018 and 2019 edition. However, he would not be able to join the team in the UAE because of personal reasons. Therefore, the Delhi-based franchise recruited Harris ahead of the 13th edition.

In the recent interview, Harris, who has won the IPL title for Deccan Chargers in 2009, opined that he is delighted to be again part of the most popular league. He added that he is delighted to work with Delhi Capitals and hoping to contribute to their ambition to lifting the coveted IPL trophy.
“I am delighted to be back in the IPL,” Ryan Harris said, on his latest challenge. “This is a huge opportunity for me to contribute to the franchise’s ambitions of lifting the coveted IPL trophy. The Delhi Capitals side has an impressive bowling line up, and I can’t wait to start working with them all.”
Ryan Harris has featured in IPL as a player for Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab. He has played in 37 IPL matches picking 45 wickets.

The veteran has also experience in coaching. He has undertaken coaching assignments with the Australian team and Big Bash League side Brisbane Heat.
Harris had a short stint in international cricket because injuries hampered his career. He has represented Australia in 27 Tests, 21 ODIs and 3 T20I matches. He has 113 Test wickets, 44 ODI wickets, and 4 T20I wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals reached their first playoffs in IPL history in the last edition but could not qualify for the final. They have experienced players in their team management, including Ricky Ponting, Mohammad Kaif, Samuel Badree and Vijay Dahiya.
