Sunil Gavaskar Says Sachin Tendulkar Is The Perfectionist In Batting
Sunil Gavaskar showered praises on Sachin Tendulkar and his batting exploits. While naming three cricketers who have inspired generations of people, he positioned Sachin Tendulkar after Kapil Dev.
“From the time I was growing up, played and watching cricket, I have seen so many batsmen, but nobody has come close to batting perfection like Sachin Tendulkar. The backlift, the head, balance, the way he would lean forward, on the on side on the leg side and playing the scoop shot so wonderfully. He is definitely among the top three cricketers that I have had the privilege of following,” said Gavaskar.

Sunil Gavaskar is himself an Indian cricketing legend and broke many records in his illustrious career spanning 16 years. He was the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in Tests, and even holds the record for the highest number of centuries in Test matches (34) which stood for two decades before Sachin Tendulkar went past him.
His debut series against West Indies, where he scored a staggering 774 runs averaging 154.80, is still considered by many to be unparalleled. He is presently a commentator and even writes regular cricketing columns in newspapers.
Sunil Gavaskar Rates Current Squad Under Virat Kohli Is The Best Ever
Sunil Gavaskar also observed that the current Test squad under Virat Kohli is arguably the best in India’s cricketing history. Virat Kohli is the most successful test captain with 33 victories surpassing MS Dhoni’s 27 and Sourav Ganguly’s 21 Test wins.

“I can’t think of any Indian team better than the one we have right now. The variety in the bowling attack and the depth in batting is unparalleled. The 1986 team to England perhaps comes close to the balance this team brings to the table.”
The Indian team under Virat Kohli is scheduled to play Australia in a 4-match Test series in Australia, beginning 3rd December 2020 where they are expected to face a challenging and grilling test. Virat Kohli has several batsmen like Cheteswar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma at his disposal besides having the likes of Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha who can contribute in batting.
The pace department is headed by Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah. Besides, the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Ashwin and hence India has a strong and balanced team that can deliver on every occasion.
Moreover, openers like Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan also adds to the bright future of Test cricket for the Indian team.
Indian cricket team won in Australia 2-1 in four-match Test series and whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in 2017 and 2-1 in 2015 and West Indies 2-0 in 2016.
However, they lost against England, South Africa and New Zealand under Virat Kohli’s captaincy held overseas.
