Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has joined the squad in the UAE for preparing for the upcoming Indian Premier League. As per rules, after clearing the test of the COVID-19, he has been quarantined for six days in the hotel room in Dubai. Ponting, in his recent post, has shared a beautiful viewpoint from his room while he will be locked in the room until the quarantine period lasts.

Taking the Instagram, the former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting shared the picture and captioned the post, “My view for the next 6 days, hotel quarantine is officially underway”.

Ricky Ponting has been with the Delhi Capitals from the 2018 season. It will be his third season with the franchise who is still to lift the trophy. Last year, DC reached the playoffs for the first time in IPL’s history but failed to qualify for the final.

The youngster Shreyas Iyer will be leading a bunch of experienced players in this IPL season. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajunkya Rahane, who have already captained for their past franchise, will be playing for the Delhi based franchise. It would be a bit challenging for the Iyers to lead the senior players.

Recently, Ricky Ponting’s statement of not allowing Ravichandran Ashwin, including other DC teammates, to practice Mankad had stirred a huge debate on social media. He had said that mankading is against the spirit of the game so the players won’t be allowed to pull off this practice.

The veteran spinner had then come out and said that he had chat with Ponting and would have a detailed discussion with him once he arrives UAE.Meanwhile, BCCI decided to move the tournament to the UAE as the coronavirus cases kept rising in India. The cash-rich league will begin from September 19 and will end with the final being played on November 10.
