West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo says a player should be judged by his ‘performances not by his age’. He believes many players have got better with age and hence the age criteria should not be used to judge a player. The 36-year-old all-rounder is only one of two bowlers to have won the IPL purple cap twice.
Bravo will be part of the IPL with CSK under MS Dhoni’s captaincy once again in September. The 13th edition of IPL was originally scheduled to kick off from March 29, however, got postponed indefinitely after April 15 due to the spike in coronavirus cases in the country. Eventually, the postponing of the World Cup to 2021 allowed IPL a window to be conducted in September.

Age is just a number: Dwayne Bravo
The CSK all-rounder feels no one should just be judging a player on his age, its the performances that matter. He said he has been in a good form and even performing better with age. Other players like Imran Tahir (41), Chris Gayle (40) and Lasith Malinga (38) have been playing in T20 tournaments around the world and have been outstanding and key for their team.
“Anyone who challenges or questions our age – I don’t think anyone of us, our performance has dipped or dropped because of our age. As a matter of fact, most of us even perform just as good or even better. Age is just a number. Don’t judge a player by his age, but judge him by his performance and his ability to continue to play,” Dwayne Bravo said.

I am not interested in the MVP award: Dwayne Bravo
Bravo has been instrumental in the success of CSK throughout his journey with the Chennai based side. He says he is not interested in winning individual awards but wants to help for the team’s success.
“I am not interested in the Most Valuable Player award in the IPL. I am interested in being able to contribute to my team Chennai Super Kings’ success. Being as someone who bats at No. 7 and bowl near the death [and] back-end of the innings, it is hard to be the MVP. I want to be a player that contributes with bat and ball and in the field for his team to win cricket games,” he said.

Dwayne Bravo will be seen in CSK colours in the upcoming IPL. The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the 8 teams play in UAE. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
