Rishabh Pant Seen Hammering Spinners At Nets And Is Indirectly Compared With Sourav Ganguly

In a video shared by Delhi Capitals on Twitter, the left-hander is seen hammering spinners during the Delhi Capitals net session in Sharjah on Monday. He possesses the ability to dispatch the best of bowlers out of the ground on his day. He smashes a couple of huge sixes against the spinners of his side in the nets.

“An Indian southpaw smashing sixes off-spinners at will in Sharjah. Well, where have we heard that before?”

Rishabh Pant Hopeful To Perform Well In IPL 2020 And Regain Spot In Indian Team

Rishabh Pant will be hopeful of a good show in IPL this year to regain his spot back in the Indian team in white-ball cricket after being replaced by KL Rahul as the first-choice wicket-keeper batsman in the side. While KL Rahul played all 5 T20Is and three ODIs on India’s tour of New Zealand earlier this year, left-handed Rishabh Pant was left to warm the bench and did not get a single game.

KL Rahul is a strong contender to cement his place in the Indian team as a wicket-keeper batsman in white-ball cricket after his impressive performances in New Zealand. However, a terrific IPL campaign for left-handed Rishabh Pant could make way for him to reclaim his spot in the side. The latter’s form will also be crucial for Delhi Capitals who will be aiming to win IPL in the upcoming season after making it to the playoffs last year.

Delhi Capitals added the likes of senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, senior batsman Ajinkya Rahane, and West Indian Shimron Hetmyer to further strengthen their squad and will be hopeful of ending their trophy drought this year. They have spinners like Amit Mishra, Axar Patel as well as pacers like Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Keemo Paul, and Anrich Nortje besides having batsmen like Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan in their star-studded lineup.
