Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has opined that everyone is eager to watch CSK skipper MS Dhoni back in action. Dhoni recently announced his retirement from international cricket leaving the whole cricketing world shocked. He was last seen on the field last year in the ODI World Cup where Team India was knocked out by New Zealand.
Dhoni has led the Chennai-based side to three IPL and two Champions League T20 titles. IPL 2020 is being played in the UAE due to the mammoth numbers of coronavirus cases in India. The tournament will be played from 19th of September to 10th November.

All eyes will be on the opening game between MI and CSK: Sunil Gavaskar
Gavaskar is back in the IPL commentary panel and is excited for the return of the Indian Premier League. He stated that the IPL has been the best platform to find the young talent he hopes its the same this year. Sunil Gavaskar says all eyes will be on the first game of the IPL 2020 between MI and CSK, and the fans will be eager to watch MS Dhoni back in action after a long gap.
“The Indian Premier League has been the perfect platform to unearth talent and I hope this year too, we get to see that. The teams are stacked up really well and all eyes will be on the opening game between MI and CSK. We will be watching MS Dhoni play after a year, and am sure everyone is waiting to see him back in action. Let the games begin,” Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

JP Duminy is excited about the IPL opening match:
Former South African all-rounder JP Duminy is also a part of the IPL commentary team and says he can’t wait for the opening match between MI and CSK. Duminy who repped the MI shirt for 2 seasons in the IPL knows the fierce battle with CSK. He also said he reckons the CSK and MSD fans will be all ecstatic to watch Dhoni return on the pitch.
“I can’t wait for the opening match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings since I expect plenty of fireworks on the ground. I’m sure CSK and Dhoni fans all over the world will be ecstatic to watch MS Dhoni return to the playing field,” Duminy said.

CSK will face MI in the IPL opener on 19th September. The IPL 2020 will be played between September 19 and November 10. The matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah respectively.
