The former Australian left-arm leg-spinner Brad Hogg believes that the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) have not enough bowlers that can take advantage of pitch conditions in the UAE. In seven matches that have been played in IPL 2020 so far, fast bowlers have done well on wickets of the UAE.

Brad Hogg is a former Australian cricketer who played all formats of the game. He was a left-arm wrist spin bowler and a lower-order left-handed batsman. He played for Australia from 1996 to 2014 — and featured in seven Tests and 123 One Day Internationals (ODIs).

Brad Hogg: SunRisers Hyderabad Bowlers Are Not Suited To Conditions In UAE

SRH have bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sandeep Sharma, who have the ability to swing the ball both ways. Brad Hogg though is of the opinion that they bowl a yard slower than the ideal length. They lack a bowler with raw pace who would induce false strokes.

“I think Sunrisers Hyderbad’s bowling attack is not suited to UAE conditions. Yes they do get swing, but they do not have that out and out pace bowler who can hit the deck and push the batsman back off a good length. So that is a big hole that they have to fill,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

SunRisers Hyderabad have other pacers like Basil Thampi, Fabian Allen, K Khaleel Ahmed, Siddarth Kaul and T Natarajan in their ranks.

Brad Hogg Feels Andre Russell Could Bounce Back And Score A Fifty

There was a lot of talk about Andre Russell and his potential impact on IPL before the Kolkata Knight Riders play the first game against the Mumbai Indians. However, Andre Russell could not perform up to expectations and was dismissed cheaply by pacer Jasprit Bumrah. But Brad Hogg believes that Andre Russell is determined to bounce back in the IPL and will score a quickfire fifty against SRH.

Kolkata Knight Riders could only score 146/9 while chasing Mumbai Indians total of 195/5. Mumbai Indians won the match by 49 runs riding on skipper Rohit Sharma’s 80. Except for Pat Cummins and Dinesh Karthik, none of the batsmen could cross more than 30-run mark.

“I think KKR will win it quite comfortably tonight. I think Andre Russell is going to have another good night and we are going to see one of the quickest fifties off his bat as well,” Brad Hogg said.

The Kolkata Knight Riders will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on 26th September in Abu Dhabi.
