DC Captain Shreyas Iyer Fined for Slow Over-Rate
The night went from bad to worse for Delhi Capitals skipper after he was also fined INR 12 lakhs for maintaining slow over-rate. It was their first offence and hence according to the IPL code of conduct only the skipper was fined.
“Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi on 29 September 2020,” an IPL release stated.
“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh,” it added.

Another two offences would cost massively for the team and hence they would have to work upon to sort clear of any mistakes. A second over-rate offence would result in a fine of Rs 24 lakhs for the captain and of Rs 6 lakhs or 25% of the match fee from every other player in the team, whichever is lesser.
A third offence will result in a one-game ban for the skipper and will cost him Rs 30 lakhs, while each player in the XI will be fined Rs 12 lakhs or 50% of the match fee, whichever is lesser.
DC handed their first loss of IPL 2020 by SRH
