Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has heaped praises on his RCB and Team India captain Virat Kohli. He has stated that Kohli gives his bowlers the freedom to decide their own field. Kohli took over the RCB captainship in 2013 and reached one final with the team.

In 180 matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise, Virat Kohli has scored 5430 runs which is the highest in the tournament’s history. He has been loyal to his side through thick and thin in their 13-year journey in the IPL. The Bangalore based side are desperate to win the IPL trophy as they have never won it before in the previous 12 campaigns. They have had a good start to IPL 2020, winning 2 out of 3 matches.

As a bowler or a youngster, Virat Kohli gives you more confidence: Yuzvendra Chahal

The 30-year-old spinner Chahal has appreciated his skipper Virat Kohli having confidence in him and other bowlers. Chahal also told that Virat always allowed the bowlers to set their own fielding.

“It’s been like 6 years now. Virat bhaiya has always been full of confidence. He always says you’re the captain of your bowling whatever field you want, just go with that and if it’s not working then we will go for plan B.” Chahal was quoted as saying in a press conference.

“As a bowler or a youngster, he gives you more confidence. Whether it’s Indian team or RCB, everyone has the liberty to set their own field,” he added.

Yuzvendra Chahal has been instrumental for the RCB team over the years, he is also their highest wicket-taker in this campaign with 5 wickets off 3 matches to his credit.

RCB to next clash with RR

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) on October 3rd at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both the teams have won 2 of their matches, losing one. RCB won their last match against MI in a super over. RR had to taste their first loss of IPL 2020 to KKR in the last match, hence the RCB team will come into the match with more confidence.

RCB have reached the final thrice, under three different captains, but they couldn’t lay hands on the coveted IPL title. With a new coaching team, they would look to break the jinx — and get their hands on the silverware. They have started this campaign with two wins in three matches.
