Former Indian cricketer and IPL commentator Aakash Chopra said after CSK vs SRH clash, that he had never seen MS Dhoni in so much fatigue. Dhoni played an unbeaten knock of 47 runs off 36 balls and looked all exhausted coming to the end of the match.

SRH had the won the toss and decided to bat first at the Dubai International Stadium against CSK. SRH had put up a score of 164 on the board, by an unbeaten knock of 51 runs off only 26 balls by Priyam Garg.

The Chennai team fell short of seven runs at the end, managing to score only 157 runs off the 20 overs. SRH’s young bowling lineup overpowered the Chennai Veterans.

I am a little emotional because I saw MS Dhoni so tired for the first time: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra said he was a little emotional seeing how physically drained MS Dhoni was after the match against SRH. He said he felt it was a massive target for CSK to approach, but deep down he still had hope with Dhoni standing on the pitch.

“I am a little emotional because I saw MS Dhoni so tired for the first time, tired meaning physically absolutely totally drained. He was bending down, not able to breathe properly, his throat was dry, that can happen in the heat of Dubai.” Aakash Chopra said on his Youtube Channel.

“CSK required a lot of runs and I felt that it was not possible, but somewhere in the corner of the heart there was a voice which said that MS Dhoni is there and he will do it. Just the romanticism probably, MS Dhoni’s story teaches us to never give up. But unfortunately CSK lost.”

Aakash Chopra’s analysis of CSK vs SRH

Chopra was happy with the changes CSK made and their decision to go into the game with 6 bowlers. He said the SRH youngsters Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma performed great even with the pressure on their shoulders.

“To start with, CSK made good changes in their playing XI and decided to go in with 6 bowlers. They got in Ambati Rayudu, Shardul Thakur and Dwayne Bravo for Murali Vijay, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Josh Hazlewood.” said Aakash Chopra.

“When Kane Williamson got run out, all the responsibility fell on the shoulders of the kids. I felt that things could go awry but Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma played well to take SRH to a decent total.

“There was pressure on Priyam Garg because Williamson got run out with him. And then he was going at lesser than a run a ball while Abhishek Sharma was striking it well at the other end. I thought he might just throw his wicket away but he did not do that. He kept fighting and some of his shots were absolutely classic.” he added.

Chennai Super Kings will play their next game against Kings XI Punjab on October 4th at the Dubai International stadium.
