Rohit Sharma has again added a new record to his name, becoming the second-most capped player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai Indians are playing SunRisers Hyderabad in their fifth clash of the tournament. Rohit has now played 193 games in the tournament and the 33-year-old surely has a lot more to play in the coming years.

Only CSK skipper MS Dhoni stands ahead of Rohit Sharma, having played 194 games in the tournament.

Earlier this week, Rohit Sharma became only the third player to reach the 5000 runs mark in the IPL history. It has been a record-breaker week for the MI captain.

Rohit Sharma breaks another record in the IPL

The hitman has now become the second most capped player in the history of the Indian Premier League with 193 caps to his name. If CSK doesn’t make it to the playoffs then we may see Rohit taking the number one spot from MS Dhoni, who is just one match ahead of him.

Mumbai Indians have won the toss and chosen to bat in their clash against SRH today. Rohit was dismissed early on in the game by Sandeep Sharma. He could only manage to score 6 runs off 5 balls.

David Warner reaches milestone for SRH

SRH skipper David Warner becomes the highest capped captain of the SRH side, with 50 caps in their match against MI. He was reappointed as the skipper this side after missing 2018 campaign due to a ban for involvement in a ball-tampering incident. He returned to the side in 2019 and ended up as the orange cap winner in IPL 2019.  SRH won the IPL title in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner.

Coming into the 5th match of the tournament for both sides MI and SRH, they currently stand at 3rd and 4th spot on the IPL table, respectively.
