AB de Villiers, RCB wicket-keeper batsman is of the opinion that his side RCB is not too far from giving their best performance. He mentioned that despite not having a good last match against Delhi Capitals, he will focus on getting back on track ahead of the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

RCB led by Virat Kohli is currently at the fifth position after DC, MI, SRH and KKR in the IPL 2020 points table after winning three and losing two matches with six points from five matches. RCB will play against CSK later on 10th October at the Dubai International Stadium after the conclusion of KKR and Kings XI Punjab match at Abu Dhabi.

AB De Villiers To Focus On Getting The Swing Of Things

RCB won against SunRisers Hyderabad by 10 runs where AB de Villiers scored 51 but lost against Kings XI Punjab.  RCB won against Mumbai Indians in Super Over and defeated Rajasthan Royals comfortably by eight wickets before losing their last match against table-toppers Delhi Capitals by 59 runs.

Both AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli are among the leading run-scorers for RCB but have been inconsistent. Devdutt Padikkal leads RCB’s leading run-scorers list with 178 runs from five matches.

“We got a decent start, a couple of disappointing performances but all in all we are not far off from our best and I think we know what is required to get the momentum going. I have been feeling alright in the last five matches, I did not have a good game in the last match of ours, I will be focusing on getting the swing of things,” AB de Villiers said in a video posted on the official handle of RCB.

Simon Katich: Good Challenge In Big Game Against CSK

RCB will now play four games against CSK, KKR, KXIP and RR in a span of eight days. Head coach Simon Katich has said that the team has looked at the areas where they can improve upon as they had a couple of days to regroup.

“We have had a good couple of days to regroup and also prepare. I think in terms of this week, it has been good to analyse what has gone well for us and where we need to improve on. We are trying to see the upcoming games as an opportunity to set up our season. Hopefully, we can get on a roll,” Katich said.

“CSK is a very proud franchise, and this is an opportunity for us to test ourselves against them. Regardless of who we are playing, when you are coming against Dhoni and his crew, it will be a really good challenge for us.

“We know its a big game against CSK, we have had three days to prepare for this game. We have a squad, we have plenty of options and if we feel there is a need to rotate guys because of fatigue or through injury, then we have guys who can step in,” he added.

On the other hand, CSK is at the seventh place ahead of only Kings XI Punjab in the IPL standings with four points from six matches.  They won the opening game against Mumbai and comfortably beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets but were defeated by Rajasthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals.
