Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan has proclaimed that his side is not looking for any mid-season deal of players in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

As CSK is not having an expected season after the ouster of Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina, there were speculations that the franchise might look to bring a player to fill their void. However, Viswanathan has cleared that they are not looking at trading. He stated that the franchise has not even looked into the rules of mid-season transfer.

“CSK has never bought or released players in the mid-season transfer window and we have honestly not even gone through the rules and regulations that come into play if we are looking at a transfer. We are not looking at any player,” he explained.

Vishwanathan explained that CSK team management had already prepared themselves for every course of the situation during the auction last year. Therefore, they are not into trading players now.

“It is a competition after all and I don’t think anyone would want to loan players to another franchise. Some might be playing and others might not, but all players are picked at the auction with numerous plans in mind and for different situations that might arise during the course of the tournament. You do not go in with just Plan A. You have an A, B, C and D,” he said.

CSK have lost five matches out of eight played so far and are lying at number six position on the points table. Their batting performance has been a problem this season as they are clearly missing Suresh Raina’s service. The franchise, however, has MS Dhoni as the captain who will surely bring back them in the game.
