Kolkata Knight Riders premier pacer Pat Cummins believes that his side is yet to play the best cricket in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 although he is happy that his team in the top four in the points table.

KKR has won four matches out of seven played. Almost all their victories have been come-from-behind. Against KXIP, they were losing the match after KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal’s solid partnership but the miraculous effort from bowlers guided KKR to two runs victory. Similarly, it happened against CSK.

But as Kolkata Knight Riders moves to play Mumbai Indians, Pat Cummins wants his side to showcase a ‘complete game’ to defeat the defending champion.

“I think four wins, three losses, you know, is a pretty good result. We’re in the top-four. And I don’t think we’ve played anywhere near our best cricket yet, we haven’t played that complete game that blows a team out of the water,” Cummins said on the eve of their match against Mumbai Indians.

Pat Cummins stated that they didn’t deserve two wins out of four, but he acknowledged that it’s a sign of a good team when it can win from any position. He reckoned that KKR needs to work in some areas to get things going for them.

“We had no right to win those two games, but we still won… That’s a sign of a really good side. We feel like we can win from any position. So, hopefully, we can just work on a couple of areas, don’t want to peak too early, by the final we’ll be right to go,” he added.

Pat Cummins hopes he can bowl better against Mumbai Indians:

The Australian pacer has not delivered up to the scratch performance in the last seven matches. He has picked only two wickets at the economy rate of 8.53. He hopes that in the next match against Mumbai Indians, he can produce the best spells to take the team forward.

Hopefully, I will bowl better than we did in the first game, concentrate on what we do well as bowlers. At different times everyone in the side bowled really well. Hopefully, we can bring it all together. We like playing in Abu Dhabi, so hope it’s a good game,” the 27-year-old said.

Pat Cummins was the most expensive buy of the IPL 2020 auction. KKR had bagged his service for INR 15.5 crore, but the pacer has not justified the price tag with his performance.
