Ravi Shastri: Anushka Sharma Entitled To Say If She Felt It

All fans eyes were on Indian skipper, and RCB captain Virat Kohli who playing his first series in the aftermath of Covid-19 took some time to get going as he marked his return to competitive cricket following India’s tour of New Zealand early in 2020.

The RCB captain struggled to time the ball in the initial matches as Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar opened up on his struggles and passed a comment on-air, involving Virat Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

He stated that Virat Kohli practiced playing with his wife Anushka Sharma bowling only referring to the duo’s viral video of playing cricket in their Mumbai residence during the lockdown period.

Though several sections also supported legendary opener turned commentator Sunil Gavaskar, he was slammed by the majority of critics for his ‘distasteful’ remarks. Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri has reacted to the whole controversy lately as he felt Anushka Sharma is entitled to comment if she felt so.

Ravi Shastri said in an exclusive interaction with Times Now, “If Anushka Sharma felt it, she is entitled to say. Whether the comment made by Sunil Gavaskar is agreeable or not, I would not have gone down that route myself”

After the whole incident was blown out of proportion, Gavaskar had defended his statement by clarifying on-air, “I did not make any sexist comment. I said Virat Kohli didn’t get time to practice during the lockdown. We all saw how Virat Kohli was practicing on his terrace and Anushka was bowling to him. I just said Virat only got chance to practice on Anushka’s bowling,” Sunil Gavaskar opined.

On the other hand, RCB skipper Virat Kohli has gained mileage in the ongoing IPL 2020 edition in the UAE leading his team to the 2nd spot in the points table.

Virat Kohli Scored Three Fifties To Amass 431 Runs

After a slow start, the RCB captain found his lost touch following his side’s Super Over win versus defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) earlier in the season after scoring only 18 runs in the first 3 matches. After 13 innings, Virat Kohli has 431 runs at 47.88 with three half-centuries under his belt. His highest is an unbeaten 90 against CSK. His three fifties came against Rajasthan and twice against Chennai.
