Afghanistan’ star spinner Rashid Khan has been re-signed by Sussex for the next year’s T20 Blast. He has recently completed his IPL 2020 campaign with SunRisers Hyderabad. The leg-spinner was the leading taker for them, picking 20 wickets in 16 appearances at a staggering economy rate of just 5.37 runs per over.
Rashid Khan had missed this season T20 Blast due to the overlapping of the event with the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 and Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The leg-spinner was set to play for Sharks, under the leadership of Luke Wright.
Rashid Khan To Comeback To Sussex For 2021 T20 Blast

Talking about his new deal, Khan stated that he was glad to be a part of Sussex and hopes that he will soon play in front of a crowd. As he has played for Sussex from 2018-2019, the Afghan said that it felt him to like a second home.
“I am really happy to be heading back to Sussex for the 2021 Blast,” said Khan in a statement. “Ever since my arrival on the South Coast in 2018, it has felt like a home away from home for me. I look forward to seeing everyone in 2021 and really hope we will be back playing in front of our loyal supporters soon,” he added.

Sussex T20 head coach James Kirtley was delighted to grab the service of Rashid Khan.
“To secure the services of Rashid next season is amazing. He would be on any team’s wish list around the world, so for Sussex to have him playing next year is awesome. We endeavor to keep the worldwide profile high of our T20 team and Rash is one of the best performing and well-known players in the game.”
Playing for Sussex, Rashid Khan has claimed 24 wickets in 18 innings at an impressive economy of 6.97.
