In the match 7 of IPL, we have the two teams who are in the hunt for their first win in the ninth season of IPL. Daredevils lost their first match to Knight Riders, whereas Kings XI faced defeat at the hands of Gujarat Lions.
As both David Miller (KXIP) and Zaheer Khan (DD) fight it out to open the points tally, here are some important records that you should look out for.
Head to Head:
When we talk about the head-to-head stats, both these teams have faced each other 16 times in the previous eight season. Off the 16 matches, Kings XI Punjab have emerged as the winner 9 times and Delhi Daredevils have enjoyed victory on 7 occasions. Hence, it cannot be said that which team off them both has had an upper hand when they have come face to face in history.
Toss is the boss:
It is already been seen that 5 of the previous six games have been won by the team batting second and record at Feroz Shah Kotla strengthens the fact. In last 18 matches at Delhi, team chasing has emerged as the win 13 times.
100 and a chance:
Amit Mishra would be playing his 100th match in IPL against Kings XI Punjab. He currently shares his 2nd spot of bowlers with most wicket in IPL with Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla. In this match he will have a good chance increase the difference of wickets and get closer to the first spot, i.e. currently held by Lasith Malinga.
Players to look out for –
Quinton de Kock: The only foreign player in the top order of Daredevils line-up a lot of responsibility will be there on the shoulders of the young South African batsmen. If he gets going then there will be a platform set for other batsmen to play their natural game.
Mitchell Johnson: Looked at bit patchy in his first game, but that can be expected as he doesn’t play International cricket anymore. But Johnson has always been handy with both the bat as well as the ball and one can/should never count him out.
