Kings XI Punjab have lost both their match this season, whereas Supergiants have had a fairly better record as they won and lost one match each. MS Dhoni led Supergiants would be looking to register another win whereas Miller will have to ensure Kings XI open their tally in the points table with a win.
When it comes to Supergiants, they are yet to strike a good combination in the bowling department and same has been the case for Kings XI in the batting, despite having some of the best hitters in their line-up.
As we talk about the second match of the day, Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Daredevils, it will be RCB who will be high on confidence as they beat SRH by 45 runs in their first match. Whereas DD won their previous match by beating Kings XI.
It will be a tough game for Zaheer and his boys as they will be up against one of the disastrous batting line-up in the world. When you have the likes of Gayle, Kohli, de Villiers and Watson in the top 4, even the word disastrous doesn’t explain what these men are capable of.
Let us take a look at some important numbers you should be looking out for in the doubleheader on a Sunday –
1K mark for Pietersen – Pietersen has not been a regular customer in IPL. He has played 34 matches so far. In his 35th match, Pietersen will have a chance to reach the 1000 run mark. He has currently scored 986 in IPL so far.
Head to Head: RCB vs DD – In the 14 matches that both these teams have played, Royal Challengers lead with 9 wins and Daredevils have had 5 wins in their kitty.
Runs against the home team – Virat, who is basically from Delhi averages a mammoth 110.67 against Delhi Daredevils since he has become the captain of RCB.
Most T20 runs in one venue – With 1578 runs in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Chris Gayle is short of just 18 to lead the list of batsmen who have scored most T20 runs at a single venue.
Young Guns – In the last match that Delhi Daredevils played, the average age of their Top 5 batsman was 22. Must say that the coaching department heavily banks on their young guns to give a good start.
Players to watch out for –
Marsh, Miller, and Maxwell – If Kings XI have to have to win their M3 will have to perform. Even if one of them hits form, they can single-handedly win the match for team Punjab. With two Ashwin’s as a spinner, they would be expecting to send the balls out of the park.
Ashwin and Ashwin – For RPS, if Ashwin and Ashwin can contain the big-hitters then it won’t be a tough task for the Supergiants to win the match.
Kohli – When talking about RCB, you need to look out for every player, but if we have to pick one, it will definitely be Virat Kohli.
Carlos Brathwaite – He rocked the WT20 by his big hitting, not much has been seen by him in IPL so far. A small ground in Bangalore might as well be the chance for Brathwaite to prove
