This week on Monday Night Raw the Miz challenged the Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny in a one-on-one match which Bad Bunny accepted after he knocked out the Miz with a guitar shot on his back. Prior to this incident, Bad Bunny was attacked by Miz last week in the same way. And it can be said that this week’s incident was portrayed as revenge.

The match has been booked between Miz and Bad Bunny for WrestleMania 37 this week on Monday Night Raw. But looking at the fan forums it does not look like any fans care about this much. In fact, nobody seems to be giving any attention to this match at all.

Why Miz vs. Bad Bunny Would Be Too Predictable

But why is this match so predictable? If the match remains like this till WrestleMania everybody knows Bad Bunny will come out as the winner. There is no chance WWE will let Miz win this match. But how can anyone predict this with such confidence?

If you look at the previous 36 years’ history of WrestleMania, you will see every time a celebrity competed in a WrestleMania match has come out victorious. Let us have a quick glance through the history of the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’,

Former WWE world champion Big Show lost to two celebrities in two different WrestleManias, to Akebono Taro at WrestleMania 21 and to Floyd Mayweather WrestleMania 24. Lawrence Taylor defeated Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania XI’s main event. Mr. T defeated Roddy Piper in WrestleMania 2, he also won the main event of WrestleMania 1. And who can forget the infamous ‘Brawl for All’ final match between Bart Gunn and Butterbean?

One thing has never changed in any of those matches and is the outcome. Every time a celebrity fought a WWE wrestler at WrestleMania, they have always won. There are more examples of this kind of match but we have just picked some of the selected ones only.

So does this match between Bad Bunny and the Miz seriously make any difference? The answer is a big no. It is predictable, and moreover, this type of match does not suit the profile of a two times world champion. It would have been better for him to have a match with Damien Priest. He could have promoted the new talent on the prior before having such a meaningless match. Hell, competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial battle royal would have been better than this.

So we cannot support these types of celebrity involving matches at WrestleMania. Because they are predictable and they do not mean anything to the wrestler or wrestlers involved in the match. We hope these bookings will stop in near future.
