WrestleMania 37 did not come out with many shockers, but it did produce some great matches, among them was Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks’ match for the WWE SmackDown women’s Championship.
Undoubtedly, it was one of the better matches of the two nights combined. Bianca Belair has been one of the most impressive female wrestlers of WWE in recent history. From her great acting skills to her amazing in-ring skills she is turning out to be the perfect Pro wrestler.
Bianca Belair Shares Her WrestleMania Moment
Her victory at WrestleMania 37 over Sasha Banks was not much of a shocker as she was being pushed by WWE from the very first day of joining the company. She is also one of the most successful female wrestlers ever to enter the Royal Rumble match. It was pretty clear that her push was imminent.
The 32-year-old recently spoke with the Sports Illustrated where she talked about her WrestleMania movement, she also talked about how Banks set the standard and more things. Given below are some highlights.
Says she became overwhelmed right as the match began:
It all hit me again right then. I’m in the ring with Sasha Banks, in the main event of WrestleMania, making history. My family was there, fans were there for the first time in over a year, and it all sunk in. I became overwhelmed with the significance of the moment.
Says her favorite part was sharing that moment with Sasha:
That was my favorite part, soaking up that moment. I was happy, I was nervous, I felt blessed to be there. I wanted to stay in that moment forever. But I was also in the ring with Sasha Banks. When you’re in the ring with Sasha Banks, there is no chance to sit back. You need to be at your best, so I knew it was time to go.
How it takes two to make a match special:
It takes two people to make this special, and I’m so honored to be able to stand across from Sasha Banks and be the one to end her title run. Inside the ring, outside the ring, Sasha is the standard, the blueprint. I needed to prove myself against her. She elevates every person she comes in contact with, and that’s what she did for me. For what Sasha did for me, I’ll be forever grateful to her.
The moment they shared in gorilla right before the match began:
Right before we went out, we were in Gorilla together. We both looked at each other and said, ‘This moment is ours; let’s do this.’
From last week’s SmackDown, it seemed like Sasha Banks is turning heel. It would be really interesting to see how does WWE book the heel Sasha Banks against Bianca Belair. We are also hoping to see a gimmick change of Bianca sooner or later.
