Without any doubt, The Miz is currently one of the biggest stars of WWE. Being a former two times WWE champion, he is indeed one of the biggest attractions of WWE today.
But his journey did not start in a very good way. He came to WWE first as a contestant of WWE Tough Enough in the year 2004 which he lost to Daniel Puder. After two years, WWE put him as a host of WWE Divas Search.

The Miz Remembers How He Forgot Lines During Diva Search 2006; How Vince McMahon Reacted
Miz was given the responsibility to give the introductory speech of the Diva Search competition in 2006. And it must have been the worst moment of the Miz’s career. He forgot his lines, he was nervous, and he had to check his wrist to announce the voting number.
That same guy became one of the best talkers in WWE history. Fans always wondered how would have Miz recovered from this trauma. During the recently released WWE 24 sneak peek, The Miz looked back at the infamous incident;

He thought he might get fired because he forgot his lines:
“I did the Diva Search casting special, and then we brought them into the ring. There’s no cue cards, there’s no teleprompter. It’s just in your memory and you need to go, go, go. We were live, by the way, so you don’t get a second take.
“A cold sweat came over me and my entire mind went blank. And I could hear the audience — you can feel an audience drain out and know that you are messing up. The most important thing I had to remember was the phone number — and I forgot it. So, I looked on my wrist. I was sweating so much that it erased off my wrist. I remember going backstage and thinking, ‘I am going to get fired.”
How Vince McMahon reacted:
“I walk back, I went over to Vince and I’m like, ‘I am so sorry, I apologize. This will never happen again. I will make sure it won’t happen again’ and he goes, ‘I know it won’t happen again. He took me aside, and said, ‘Bullet points, kid. You need to learn bullet points and I know you will do better next time because you’ll have to do it next Friday.’ So it was like, ‘Oh, I’m not fired.’”

The improvement of the Miz was just outstanding. We can bet nobody on that day thought the guy who botched a small promo could become one of the best talkers in professional wrestling history.
