This week’s Smackdown started as Jey Uso was seen standing inside the arena. He regretted for Jimmy disrespecting Roman Reigns last week. He then welcomed the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns along with Paul Heyman came out to the arena.

Footage from last week was shown. Roman and Heyman first made fun of Cesaro then moved to Jimmy Uso. Before he could say anything Roman entered the arena. He entered the ring and said that his brother was acting like Roman’s b**ch. Two brothers argued as Roman said they should respect what he did for the family.

WWE Smackdown 14.07.2021 Results & Ratings

Jimmy said he might be a member of the family but not everything. Jimmy said that he did not think that Roman could beat Cesaro. Roman said that Jimmy could never compare himself to Roman. Jimmy said that he could do whatever Roman could and challenged Cesaro. Cesaro came out to the arena and accepted the challenge.

Match 1 – Natalya and Tamina defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions

The match was booked for six minutes and it was a fun and emotional match. But it was booked terribly. The match could have easily fit into the PPV or should have been the main event. Without any logical backstory and anything it was booked and we must say, really poor job from the critics. Tamina pinned Nia with a Superfly Splash to win the title for her side.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews was seen inside the ring giving respect to Commander Azeez. Sami Zayn interrupted and asked for a title shot. Kevin Owens came out and followed Sami as he was attacked by Apollo and Azeez. Big E came out and helped Owens to take down Apollo and Azeez. Zayn now entered the ring and attacked Owens. Big E then knocked out Owens and Apollo and Azeez escaped.

Match 2 – Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler

This was a nice match to be booked for minutes. It did a nice job in hyping their tag team championship match at Backlash. This is two weeks in a row that Rey defeated Dolph. The roll up however looked a little botched up.

Hype for the Smackdown Women’s Championship match next as the champion Bianca Belair was inside the ring and Bayley remained on the big screen.

Match 3 – King Corbin defeated Shinsuke Nakamura

The match was booked for three minutes and they seriously stop burying Nakamura now. This is utter frustrating to see such an amazing athlete losing every single week.

Backstage Adam Pearce made a fatal four way match for the IC title next week on Smackdown. But why not at WrestleMania Backlash?

Match 4 – Cesaro def. Jimmy Uso by disqualification

The match was interrupted by Roman Reigns after seven minutes and it went to DQ. It was going well though. Roman and Jimmy argued on the ramp as Cesaro attacked Jey. Roman came inside the ring but Cesaro fought everyone. Roman left the fight as Cesaro beat down Jey. Cesaro and Roman kept looking and taunting each other as the show went off the air.

Overall, it was a good show and it did a good job to build up all the feuds. We give it 2 stars out of 5. 1 star will be deducted because no matches for PPV have been booked, one star for not enough matches, a half star for weak booking Women’s Tag Team Championship booking, and a half star for booking another defeat for Nakamura.
