This week’s Smackdown started as the Usos were seen excited for their match on the night. Universal Champion Roman Reigns joined them and cheered them up and also wished them luck.
Match 1 – The Usos defeated The Street Profits

An excellent to kick things off for the night. It got booked for fifteen minutes and both teams were really great in this competition. Jimmy Uso at the end pinned Montez Ford with a Super Kick.
Match 2 – Natalya and Tamina defeated Riott Squad
Would not say it was a bad match. It was just okay. But it just does not look good to see a wrestler like Ruby Riott losing every week. Tamina at the end pinned Ruby Riott with the Superfly Splash.
Backstage Smackdown Tag Team Championship got official for next week between the champions and the Usos.
Match 3 – Bianca Belair defeated Carmella
Bayley was on the commentary table during the match. About the match, this is the problem with WWE, when they push someone, they show him/her totally unstoppable. A dominant victory for Bianca nonetheless and it was not a good look for Carmella.
Seth Rollins came out next. He said that Cesaro could not be here because he was beaten by him last week and Cesaro was in hospital now. He kept making fun of Cesaro throughout his promo. He also announced that it was his birthday.
Match 4 – Apollo Crews defeated Kevin Owens by DQ
The match was shortly booked and it was totally dominated by Owens. As he was about to pin Apollo with a Stunner, Azeez nailed Owens with the Nigerian Nail and the match went to DQ. This meant an IC title match for Owens in the future.
Match 5 – Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Chad Gable
Good to see Nakmura is finally lifting back on the winning ways. Rick Boogs accompanied Nakamura on this week’s Smackdown again. In
the end, Nakamura pinned Gable with the Kinshasa. More promotion for the Nakamura – Corbin feud went on after the match.
Backstage IC title match announced between Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens and Azeez would be banned from ringside.
Match 6 – WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions Dominik Mysterio defeated Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler in a handicap match to retain
Rey was attacked backstage and Dominik had to start the match alone. Roode and Ziggler dominated the match and Dominik kept on surviving. And the end, Rey’s entrance theme created a distraction and Dominik pinned Roode with a roll up. After the match, Smackdown tag team champions and the Usos stood face to face as this week’s Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was an average week. Of course, there was an excellent match between Usos and the Street Profits to save the grace. But no mention of the Aleister Black – Big E situation which ended last week’s Smackdown is a big downgrade. We give it 2.5 stars out of 5 stars.
