This week on Monday Night RAW WWE champion Bobby Lashley was challenged by Xavier Woods inside Hell In A Cell. This is not very common to have HIAC matches on weekly shows, especially on a free television show.

But WWE organized it two times in only three days’ time. Last week on Friday Night Smackdown, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defended his title against Rey Mysterio inside the Cell. Earlier the match was scheduled to take place in the Hell in a Cell pay per view event. Then for some reason WWE moved the match to SmackDown.

Why WWE Organized Hell In A Cell Match On Raw This Week

Now this week on Monday Night RAW, Bobby Lashley was challenged by Xavier Woods inside the Cell. Lashley will be defending his WWE title against Kofi Kingston at Money in the Bank pay per view event. This was Kofi’s first opportunity for the WWE championship since he lost the title to Brock Lesnar in 2019.

After Bobby Lashley accepted Kofi Kingston’s challenge for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, Lashley wanted to face Kingston’s Tag Team partner Xavier Woods this week on Raw. Woods accepted the challenge and he wanted the match to be inside Hell in a Cell.

But the question is why WWE suddenly organized a Hell in a Cell match for this week’s Raw? The match was completely unnecessary to be organized inside Hell in a Cell. The match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio for the WWE championship had consequences so it was an obvious booking. But why Woods had to face Lashley in such a match?

It is reported that USA Network was unhappy with WWE for giving such a huge match (Roman vs. Rey inside hiac) to their rival Fox. This must have been the biggest reason why WWE organized this match this week on RAW. However, the match on Smackdown was way better than Lashley vs. Woods match this week on RAW.
