WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently revealed that Stone Cold Steve Austin was alert about working with him after his steel cage match with Chris Benoit in 2001. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit faced each other inside a steel cage in an episode of Monday Night RAW in 2001, Stone Cold Steve Austin was on the commentary table and got involved in the match.
Every time Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit had feuds with each other, they delivered it excellently. It has always been very entertaining to see these two former World Champions facing each other.

Kurt Angle Reveals Steve Austin Was Alert On Working With Him After Steel Cage Match
Their first legit encounter was booked back in 2001, and the second feud started in October, 2002 and it continued till Royal Rumble 2003. Both feuds were amazing by their own standards.
Their feud in 2001 started from WrestleMania 17 and it continued for over three months. During this period there was a steel cage match between the duo in an episode of Monday Night RAW in June. WWE champion of the time Stone Cold Steve Austin was present on the commentary table who caused Benoit the match.
In a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Gold Medalist Seth that Steve Austin was very of working with him after seeing the mention steel cage match with Chris Benoit. He said;

“The german [suplex] spot was the most dangerous spot we did in that match,” Angle said. “That’s the toughest one to take, off the top rope backward. The chances you’re going to land on your head, probably 99% of the time you’re going to land on your head.
“Taking a chance moves that you do that you don’t know if you’re going to get injured or not. Chris and I had to prove a point that night, we were upcoming talent, [Stone Cold Steve] Austin was out there watching the match, we were trying to impress Austin. I think we went way too far because we actually scared him away.

“We were trying to show him we wanted to work with him and he’s like these guys are crazy bastards, I’m not going to work with them. He even said that later on down the line, we threw everything and the kitchen sink into that match.
“Chris and I were crazy that night and his flying headbutt off the top, my moonsault, they all could’ve been finishes. Fortunately we went a little bit further, nobody got hurt but the match turned out to be incredible. It didn’t appeal to [Austin] to want to work with us, we had to earn his respect back eventually another way.”
