Finally, fans are back. They presented an excellent promo to welcome back the fans before starting this historic week of Smackdown. This was seriously an amazing experience to finally see the live crowd back.
The show started as Vince McMahon came out to the arena as expected. He just asked the fans, “Where the hell have you been?” And departed after bowing down to the fans.
WWE SmackDown 16.07.2021 Results & Ratings
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns came out to the arena along with Paul Heyman. The Usos joined him too. They were lining up for the first match of the night.
Match 1 – Roman Reigns and The Usos defeated Edge, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio
This was a good match to kick things off. The match went on for around seven minutes and Jey Uso pinned Rey Mysterio with a roll up. After the match, the brawl continued. Edge stood tall as he knocked Roman out with the Crippler Cross Face.
Sami Zayn came out and accused WWE for doing conspiracy against him. He asked the fans to chant, “Justice For Sami”. He then said he did not need their help and he demanded justice from WWE.
Finn Balor made his main roster return. He got excellent ovation from the fans. He came out and entered the ring. Sami welcomed him back and tried to attack him but Balor fought back and beat him down.
Match 2 – Shotzi and Nox defeated Natalya and Tamina
Zelina Vega and Liv Morgan was on the commentary table who fought each other. They created a distraction for Natalya and Tegan took the advantage with pinning her with a roll up. After the match, Natalya and Tamina beat down Zelina Vega. And as they attacked Liv Morgan she fought back and beat down both of them.
Match 3 – WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defeated Carmella
The match was good. It was booked for eight minutes and both women did their best. It was quite a fun match to watch. At the end, Bianca Belair pinned Carmella with the KOD finishing maneuver.
Match 4 – Cesaro defeated Otis by DQ
The match did not continue for long as only after one minute duration Chad Gable attacked Cesaro. Cesaro started giving the swing to Gable as Otis attacked Cesaro and beat him down.
Baron Corbin came out to the arena. A promo video was shown where the point was to show Corbin’s bad time. He asked for financial help to the fans. He asked fans to visit his site and fund a total of 100k dollars.
Kevin Owens interrupted him. Baron asked for help to Kevin as well. Owens did not waste any time to knock him down with the Stunner. Time for the fatal 4 way main event of the night.
Match 5 – Seth Rollins defeated Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens in a fatal 4 way match
Pat McAfee dancing to Nakamura’s theme never gets old. It is always fun to watch him. About the match, it was really fun. Undoubtedly it was the best match of the night. Kevin Owens nailed Nakamura with a flying elbow through the announce table. As both wrestlers were down, Seth Rollins pinned Big E with the Curb Stomp. Rollins celebrated as Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was a very entertaining week. We expected multiple returns in this show but we got only one. The matches were good too. WWE’s obsession with roll up pins still remained farm. But the best part of the night was the fans, of course. We give it 3 stars out of 5.
