WWE star Damian Priest who is a former WWE NXT North American Champion recently expressed his feeling on switching to the main roster from the NXT. He said that it felt to him like he was transitioning to a new school.
Priest was pretty impressive on his first appearance in WWE’s main roster. The former three times WWE World Champion Kane praised him for his excellent performance in the Royal Rumble match.
Damian Priest Discusses His Switch To Main Roster
Priest teamed up with Bad Bunny to face The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37. Needless to say his team came out victorious in this match, and his performance was praised by the critics and the fans.
His feud with the Miz and John Morrison went on for quite a time in which Priest came out victorious in most of the occasions. Priest is going really strong as a dominant babyface in Monday Night RAW right now.
Currently, he is having a feud with the WWE United States Champion Sheamus for the title and this feud is the most challenging of his WWE career so far. Fans are really impressed with the Puerto Descent professional wrestler.
Recently, the former WWE NXT North American Champion Damian Priest spoke to Car Con Carne where he expressed his feeling on switching to the main roster from the NXT. He said that it felt to him like he was transitioning to a new school. He said;
“NXT is WWE, obviously, but growing up it wasn’t a thing. To me, it’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. It’s definitely more of ‘now, it’s the big show, let’s get these nerves under control and get to work.’
“I keep reminding myself that this is what I do. I know how to do this but a lot of emotions that go into this big spectacle that is this WWE machine, especially on the Raw roster, it’s night and day, the spectacle that goes into it, even behind the scenes with production.
“You know this is a different feel. It’s crazy, we’re reaching so many more people. The fact that now Damien Priest is known all over the world is crazy.
“That was the main part, getting my nerves under control and changing my mindset because it is a different system, so to speak, like transitioning to a new school. I had to get used to that. Now that I’ve been here a few months, I feel more comfortable and know how this works.”
