Former WWE star CM Punk who was a former five times WWE World Champion recently talked about the recent releases made by WWE and he also gave advice to the recently released WWE stars.
WWE released so many athletes of their roster since last year because of the covid-19 pandemic. There were trainees, NXT stars, regular stars and of course some of the biggest names of the promotion. Most of the names were from NXT. Some of the names of the released stars were quite shocking.
CM Punk Talks On The Recent Releases Made By WWE
Former NXT champion Aleister Black, former WWE Universal champion Braun Strowman, former three times WWE World Champion Bray Wyatt are some of the most shocking names that have been released from the WWE on this is releasing free of the promotion. Some of the wrestlers were involved in storylines and WWE was not even bothered to complete those storylines before releasing these stars.
No decision in the 70 year history of the promotion never felt so clueless than releasing some of these names. WWE has been massively criticised by wrestlers, legends, fans and pundits because of these releases they made. But of course there are many other door open for these wrestlers. Some of them has already been acquired by other promotions, some are still jobless.
CM Punk who was a former five times WWE World Champion recently appeared on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast where he talked about the recent releases made by WWE and he also gave advise to the recent released WWE stars. He said;
“Um, hmm… I mean, I don’t know, I’ve been out of the loop. I don’t know a lot of the people who got fired but I know that it’s probably more of a blessing than anything,” Punk said. “You know, if you want to be a pro wrestler, you can be, but you don’t have to work for WWE. I think it sucks, I think anybody getting fired sucks, but I do think, for a lot of people it could be the best thing that ever happened to them.
“You know, if that’s where you want to be and you got fired, well then your job is to work hard and prove them wrong, and try to get your job back. But if your job is just to be the best pro wrestler you can be, put food on your table, have money in your pocket, I think there’s a world now in 2021 where, more so than in recent times, you can be a pro wrestler.”
