Kevin Pietersen has definitely been a controversial name as the star England batsman has attracted controversy wherever he’s been. Be it his own teammates or TV commentators or even the policemen for that matter, Pietersen has had his fair share of issues with everyone!
In a rather funny and witty incident, Pietersen once learnt a key lesson during a tour to India. As shared by a user on the website Quora, Pietersen was trolled brutally after displaying his arrogant little self to an Indian policeman.
During a warm-up game for England at Vadodara, Pietersen was seated in the VIP Box beside the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Vadodara. Pietersen soon popped open a can of Redbull and had a sip. Back then, finding a can of Redbull was a rare sight in India. Amazed at the can, the policeman started towards it, only to get Pietersen’s response.
Pietersen, watching the policeman said, “Aha, You want some?” The policeman soon replied in the negative to which Pietersen further added, “Okay, But even if you want it, I won’t give it to you!”. Pietersen soon burst out laughing at his own canny words, but little did he know, that he was about to be trolled back.
The policeman called out to his assistant and said, “Whatever this man beside me is drinking, find it and buy it for every police person who is standing here.” Soon, within the span of minutes, all the policemen in the box were sipping Redbull, and Pietersen stood there absolutely stunned.
Watching Pietersen’s priceless reaction, the policeman said, “You want some? But I won’t give it to you!” It was surely an embarrassing moment for Pietersen, and since that incident, the flamboyant batsman might have never messed with an Indian policeman!
