This week RAW was the night two of the draft lottery of 2021. The show started as the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch came out to the arena. She announced since Charlotte Flair went to SmackDown, she would be coming to RAW. And this might be the time for her to hold both championships together.
WWE Raw Women’s champion Charlotte Flair came out to the arena. She said that Becky Lynch was mostly a pre show before, and it was Charlotte who made her famous. She reminded that she had some unfinished business with her.
WWE RAW 04.10.21 Results & Ratings
Bianca Belair came out. She said speaking of unfinished businesses, she had unfinished business with both of them. She reminded Charlotte technically did not go here anymore. The situation between the duo heated as Becky also ignited it pretty much. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville announced a match between Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair for the main event of the night.
The first round of draft 2021 Night 2 started as Becky officially moved to RAW and they decided to keep Bobby Lashley. Smackdown on the other hand decided keep The Usos and Sasha Banks.
Match 1 – WWE United States Champion Damian Priest defeated Jeff Hardy to retain
The first match of the night was a championship match. The match was good, it was booked for four minutes and Priest won with a roll up.
After the match, Jeff said that moving to SmackDown might give him a new Horizon to work in. Austin Theory interfered and said that he was a huge fan of Jeff and wanted a selfie with him. As Jeff posed for the selfie, Austin Theory attacked him and nailed him down. He then took selfie with Jeff’s unconscious body.
In the second round of the draft, the Monday Night show of WWE chose to take Seth Rollins and decided to keep Damian Priest. Smackdown on the other hand decided to keep King Nakamura and Rick Boogs and drafted Sheamus.
Match 2 – Shayna Baszler defeated Dana Brooke by submission
This was a short match but cannot be addressed as a squash. Shayna made Brooke submit quite easily and after that she tried to do the same thing that she did to Eva Marie and Nia Jax. Doudrop came out to the rescue and saved Dana.
Match 3 – Humerto Carrillo and Angel Garza defeated Mustafa Ali and Mansoor
It was a very short and meaningless match. We do not understand why Mustafa Ali suddenly turned into a jobber. Angel Garza pinned Mustafa Ali to earn the victory for his side.
The third round of the draft continued as the red brand of WWE decided to keep AJ Styles and Omos and drafted Kevin Owens. Smackdown drafted Shayna Baszler and NXT star Xia Li.
WWE Champion Big E came out to the arena. He shared his unhappiness of getting seperated from his teammates again. He talked about how he conquered Bobby Lashley and then he called out Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre came out to the arena. He praised E for all the struggles he went through before winning the Championship. And at last he challenged him for a title match.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode inturrupted them and Dolph said E should thank him for his achievements. He showed footage from 2013 when E was Dolph’s bodyguard. And he showed Drew when he teamed up with him in 2018. So he asked them ti say him “Thank you.” They refused to do that and challenged him in a match.
Match 4 – Big E and Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode
The match was book for nearly five minutes and the babyface side mostly dominated the match. Drew pinned Dolph with a Claymore to earn the victory for his side.
The draft continued as some of the predicted and rumored picks came real. The Street Profits were drafted to the red brand along with Finn Balor. The Viking Raiders got their chance to shine on Smackdown along with Ricochet.
Match 5 – WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Rhea Ripley and Nikki ASH defeated Tamina and Natalya to retain
Another title match for the night was booked and it was for the Women’s Tag Team championships. It was an easy victory for the champions as Nikki ASH pinned Tamina to earn the victory for her side.
The draft continued with the fifth round as the red brand decided to keep Karrion Kross and Alexa Bliss. Smackdown on the other hand drafted the Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, they also decided to keep Cesaro.
Goldberg came out to the arena. He reminded Bobby Lashley did to his son at Summerslam and he said that Lashley did that on purpose. Lashley came out and said that it was accidental and said that he would only accept his challenge at Crown Jewel if the match is No Holds Barred. Goldberg said No Holds Barred would give him the license to kill. As they went on talking, the Hurt Business attacked Goldberg but Goldberg fought and beat them down.
Match 6 – The New Day defeated The Hurt Business
It was an easy victory for the former tag team champions. Shelton and Cedric are still jobbers, but good for them that they are associated with Bobby Lashley. Xavier Woods pinned Cedric Alexander with a flying elbow drop.
Randy Orton made a challenge for Omos earlier on the night. AJ and Omos responded but their was no official match, only an unofficial fight where Orton nailed AJ with an RKO.
On the final round of the draft 2021, the red brand selected Carmella from Smackdown and the Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson is coming to the Monday night show as well. Smackdown on their last round picked Ridge Holland from NXT and decided to keep Sami Zayn.
Match 7 – Bianca Belair defeated Charlotte Flair by DQ
The match was not very long but it was fun. The match was mostly dominated Charlotte but as Bianca was closing in on a victory and about to connect the KOD, Becky attacked her. Sasha Banks interfered and beat down both Becky and Bianca. Sasha stood tall as RAW went off air.
Overall, it was an entertaining week and some of the segments were really fun. But it got slower in pace in some points. Honestly, without the draft it would have been a average show. The matches were not very special either. The main event looked good on paper but not booked well. We give this week 2.5 out of 5.
