WWE Draft 2021 is finally over and just like every year a lot of wrestlers have changed their brands and moved to different brands. Most of the drafts this year were quite meaningful. Smackdown women’s division is quite strengthened, stars would be getting some opportunities it seems.
The first pick to Monday Night RAW was Becky Lynch, and it seemed quite obvious as Charlotte Flair moved to Smackdown. It is quite clear that WWE does not want to keep two of their faces of the women’s division in a single show.
WWE Draft 2021 Night 2 Review
Seth Rollins went to RAW which means there are not enough big names left in SmackDown anymore. That is a good thing actually, there would be more opportunities for The Smackdown stars since there are not enough big names. On the other hand, Sheamus is going to SmackDown. He might not be shown as a main eventer anymore, but it would be a solid boost for the mid card division of the blue show.
Kevin Owens is also going to RAW, it was a very good decision. There was nothing much left for him in SmackDown and he was not getting enough opportunities either. Hopefully it would be a good switch for him. In third round SmackDown took two women, one is Xia Li from NXT, and the other one was Shayna Baszler from RAW. Both switches are superb, this is going to be a huge boost for the women’s division of Smackdown.
But a problem remained, since Shayna baszler is going to SmackDown, what would happen to her storyline with Nia Jax? once again WWE would kill another good process of a storyline just like some they have already killed?
The Street Profits and the Viking Raiders mid respective switches, this is an excellent decision. Street Profits were extremely talented and they were not getting enough chances in SmackDown since the storyline is something like this. This is a good decision to switch them to RAW.
Finn Balor is moving to RAW was already leaked before the show, and it happened. There are strong rumours that Finn would be receiving the same treatment as the Drew McIntyre received on RAW. Ricochet is moving to SmackDown. He was literally begging for this move, and this has to be an excellent move. Hopefully he would get more opportunities on SmackDown. He should be treated as a solid mid card at least.
Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza would be moving to Smackdown as a team. They are a good adition on the lower mid card of the blue side. Carmella moved to RAW for the first time in her career which is a good move. She had to job constantly on Smackdown, it was not the right place for her anymore.
RAW also picked Olympic Gold medalist Gable Steveson. He is going be the first Olympic gold medalist to perform in WWE after Kurt Angle. It would be very interesting to see how he performs in WWE. Smackdown would be bringing NXT star Ridge Holland who was not enough famous in NXT either. But SmackDown is the land of opportunity, hopefully the former rugby star would shine in the blue brand of WWE.
