Former WWE United States champion Cesaro who is also a former seven times WWE Tag Team Champion recently gave his opinion on Xavier Woods winning the king of the Ring tournament 2021.
The King of the Ring is a traditional tournament of WWE which is as old as Wrestlemania. The first ever king of the Ring tournament was held back in 1985 and it was won by the legendary professional wrestler Don Muraco. Since then the tournament has been organised as a separated pay per view event. A lot of professional wrestling legends have won the tournament such as Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and more.

After 2002 WWE dropped the event, the reason is still not confirmed but most of the fans believe that it was dropped because of the brand extension that took place in that time for the first time in WWE history. But the tournament returned in 2006, even though it was not a pay per view event, it never became a pay per view event after that. In 2006 the tournament was won by Booker T. Since then kept on organising the tournament but not regularly anymore.
This year WWE organised King of the Ring tournament once again. It was ultimately worn by Xavier Woods and it was his first singles Trophy in WWE. Even though Finn Balor needed to win list tournament more than Woods. Being the first ever WWE Universal champion, he could never achieve anything special in the main roster after that.
The man who almost defeated Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship recently lost clean to Xavier Woods, it does not make any sense whatsoever. It does not seem like Balor would be pushed anything more than a mid card wrestler in the WWE ever after.
Cesaro who is also a former seven times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to The Danger Zone where he gave his opinion on Xavier Woods winning the king of the Ring tournament 2021. He said;
“I have to watch that stuff live, especially for my friends, and it was just awesome. When he won in the first one round, I was like, ‘ooh, this could be it, don’t want to jinx it, don’t want to text him too much about it or anything, but I’m getting really excited.’So, then watching him win it, it was just awesome and then the reaction of his son and everything and him.
“It’s priceless. That’s why we do what we do, and to get that reaction just makes it extra special, and for him to win, for him, that means so much. That’s what he always dreamt of. If you look at The New Day now, there’s two World Heavyweight Champions and the King of the Ring. Just extremely happy for him.”
