The newly set-up franchise in the Indian Premier League, the Gujarat Lions have had a dream start to their debut season in the competition.
With the like of Smith, Finch, McCullum, Raina and Bravo, the Lions have a strong squad this season and are playing accordingly losing just three games in 9 and finding a place at the top of the points table just a few games away from the end of the league phase.
Their recent 5-wicket victory in the top-of-the-table clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders will give them plenty of confidence going into the business end of the tournament and things are only getting better for them as they are now into a week-long break from the competition.
Though many of the star players have decided to practice vigorously, Suresh Raina, the skipper of the side is expected to be all smiles this week as he is off to Netherlands to meet his wife.
Suresh Raina, who tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Priyanka is reportedly away from the country at the moment meeting his wife who is now carrying his child.
“I am meeting my wife tomorrow, leaving for Holland. So, (I am) very excited right now,” the Indian international said during the presentation ceremony after the game at Eden Gardens and it is now understood that he has already made the trip.

Raina showed his excitement recently on social media on Mother’s day where he shared a picture of him with his mom along with a picture of his wife changing the diaper of a baby doll.
Here is his tweet of the picture:

It is understood that Raina and Priyanka are expecting a baby this month and it is clear that the 29-year old is not too keen on hiding his emotions.
This will be a welcome break for the left-hand bat who has been under tremendous pressure ever since the start of the Asia Cup earlier this year.
He has found some form in the IPL but has generally not been at his best and will hope that becoming a father will change his fortunes around.
Raina has until the 14th of this month to come back to meet his team-mates on the eve of their next game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
