In a must win game to stay in the tournament Mumbai Indians struck big against Rajasthan Royals. In a match where all the players came out strong, MI won the game comfortably by 25 runs.
After a long time Mumbai Indians got their opening combination right with Michael Hussey came into touch and Lendl Simmons continuing his good run put on huge stand for first wicket. Later Captain Rohit Sharma slogged well to bag some valuable runs. Chasing a big total of 179, Rajasthan’s top order failed poorly. Except Karun Nair all failed against some disciplined bowling from MI’s spin attack of Ojha, Harbhajan and Gopal. At the end Hodge and Faulkner tried to turn back but could just reduce the winning margin.
