In a surprise move, Liverpool are looking to pay £75 million for the services of Sevilla star Jules Kounde this month. Liverpool are looking to add World-class centre-back to partner star defender Virgil van Dijk. The Reds currently have plenty of options in the central defender role but looking to sign Kounde this month to beat the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 23-year-old French star Jules Kounde has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world in the last two seasons. Last summer, Manchester United and Chelsea pushed hard for his signature with offers of around £60 million but Sevilla were firmed to deny any offers below his release clause of £75 million. Sevilla are mounting a title challenge this season with just 5 points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid, with an extra game in hand. Kounde has been crucial for Sevilla’s recent resurgence to become one of the best Spanish teams in recent years.
Liverpool are also mounting a title challenge this season, but 11 points difference to leaders Manchester City will be a big challenge to fill in. Reds will surely finish this season in the English Premier League top-four, and winning the Champions League cup will be their only priority this season. According to a report from the El Nacional, Liverpool are ready to pay upfront £75 million for Kounde this month as manager Jurgen Klopp fears that their rivals will win the bidding war for Kound in summer.

Sevilla To Offer A New Deal To Increase Jules Kounde’s Release Clause To Ward off Liverpool?
Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui is aware of the impact of Kounde leaving in the mid-table season. Sevilla are looking to find funds for reinforcements this month for the title challenge. They are looking to sign a new midfielder and a striker this month but need to sell players first.
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is a high-priority signing for Lopetegui this month but the Red Devils have already rejected their first loan offer for the Frenchman. United are looking to offload their French wantaway player on a permanent basis this month and are waiting for suitable offers.

Sevilla are looking to keep Kounde at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for a longer time and want to get rid of his release clause or increase it to ward off suitors. It will be an impossible task for Sevilla to offer better wages than Liverpool and Chelsea. Another star centre-back Diego Carlos is also linked with Newcastle United and that deal is likely to happen and it will bring enough funds for Sevilla to sign their attacking targets.
