The Indian selection committee will meet at the end of the month to select the team of Zimbabwe tour which will comprise of 3 One day Internationals and 3 T20 matches. With some seniors likely to be rested for the tour of Zimbabwe, it gives an oppurnity for young Indian stars who have impressed in the on-going IPL 9 season and domestic tournament to claim a stake in the national squad.

Here we look at the 5 IPL 9 young stars knocking the door of national team for Zimbabwe tour.

  1. Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya playing his first IPL season has impressed a lot in the tournament so far and on the top of the list seeking an opportunity. He has come out as an all-rounder contributing with the bat and off-spin bowler. He has made an impressive score of 233 runs in 11 matches at an average of 46.60 with a best score of 86 against Delhi Daredevils in the last match on 15 May 2016. His strike rate of 192.56 shows his hitting power. With the ball also he has shown promise by taking 6 wickets in 11 matches with an economy of 7.13, not bad for a spinner. His ability to hit big sixes and creating pressure on the bowlers makes him dangerous batsmen. He has also demonstrated to be a good fielder with safe hands for taking catches. For Zimbabwe tour he might replace Ravindra Jadeja as an all-rounder. Krunal Pandya plays with fearless attitude and like his brother Hardik Pandya who came to limelight in recent Australian tour and the world cup has big hitting abilities to clear the ropes with ease.  Both the siblings can make a good combination and motivate each other.
