The 2015-16 Premier League season saw its last game not long ago but the clubs have already started thinking about the next season.
Though reports from all around the world have given way to many rumors, many clubs have already taken steps to strengthen their side as soon as the transfer window opens this summer.
According to recent reports, London-based West Ham United have faced a blow in their pursuit of one of the top striker in Europe.
The Hammers have had an impressive season under Slaven Bilic and will play in Europe next season at the Olympic stadium after bidding farewell to the Boleyn Ground.
And the manager is looking for some star players to add to the already impressive squad but it is understood that a £31m bid for Lyon star Alexander Lacazette was rejected.
The 24-year old is in red hot form and has scored 48 goals in the last couple of seasons. He has been on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs. However, he signed a new 4-year contract extension in August last year and is not going to be easy to lure out.
The Hammers, who are also linked with Liverpool star Christian Benteke and Marseille’s inform forward Michy Batshuayi along with Lacazette will now have to look elsewhere.
AFC Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and Matt Ritchie are also understood to be high on the list but Lacazette would have been a great buy and can easily be the difference in crunch matches especially in Europe.
However, it was also reported that talks are expected to continue over the coming days but the most interesting thing is the intent shown by the club so far away from the start of the next season.
Norway international Harvard Nordveit has already agreed to terms with the Hammers ahead of a move this summer and it sure looks like Bilic will sign a number of other exciting prospects before the start of the next season.
Apparently, Lacazette is also chased by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
Do you think Lacazette will be a hit in the Premier League?
