In Vishakhapatnam during the Pune Supergiants versus Delhi Daredevils match a dog ran onto the field. Dog’s entry created a funny episode at the VDCA cricket stadium.  It is an embarrassing moment for security guards as how a dog broke their barrier and entered the ground when the match was going on.

But players enjoyed the moment. The dog ran onto the field and seated itself in front of Rishabh Pant. As the fielder to shoo it away only to have it roll around on the grass in a playful manner, Deepak Chahar, who was making his IPL debut, broke into laughter in the dugout.

However, this was not the end. More entertainment was on the card. Delhi Daredevils all-rounder Chris Morris got into the act, luring the friendly intruder towards the boundary before the ground staffs interrupted his trick. They chase it around the 30-yard circle before Nathan Coulter-Nile attempted to redirect the dog  with a towel.

The dog finally exited and decided to seat itself  in the Daredevils dugout instead.

An intrusion of a dog on the cricket field in India is not new as it was often seen that entered the ground and running either across the boundary like or got involved in play with players.  Other small animals like lizards, different kinds of tropical birds and insects are common on Indian cricket field.

In countries like Australia and New Zealand Sea Gulls are common on the cricket field. They didn’t interrupt the game. Sometimes they got hit on the body and eventually die.  We also have seen a players’ kindness for a seagull during Big Bash match when a bird interrupted his catch and it fainted. The player took a second and put him out of the ground. But the bird was probably too much into the game that it again come into the field.
