Manchester United are sure to sign a new central midfielder in the upcoming summer with two names linked most recently. English Premier League giants have shortlisted Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn who is valued at £40 million by the Red Devils and looking to bid for him if they fail to sign key targets in the summer. Another name on their shortlist is Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and they looking to make him a priority target over West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

Red Devils are linked with plenty of midfield options recently and there were rumors of them getting close to signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, but now they are looking at other options as well. Their midfield shortlist has grown and it looks like Manchester United will be signing two key midfielders in the summer as Paul Pogba is once again linked with Old Trafford exit rumors. Nemanja Matic is also expected to leave in the summer on a free transfer. Fred and Scott McTominay have impressed new manager Ralf Rangnick and he has tipped McTominay for a future captaincy role as well.

Manchester United are looking to sign one holding midfielder and one deep-lying midfielder to partner Bruno Fernandes in the midfield. John McGinn will be a perfect choice for them due to his versatility in the midfield. Jude Bellingham will cost almost double McGinn and he is reportedly a big fan of bitter-rivals Liverpool, who are also looking to bid for the England international in the summer. Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League this season despite spending big in the last summer but the biggest worry for them is the ongoing dressing room debacle.

Aston Villa Are Not Ready To Sell McGinn And Liverpool Are Favorites To Sign Bellingham:

According to a report from the Telegraph, Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is adamant about keeping McGinn at Villa Park at any cost and has urged the club to not entertain any offers for the Scottish international. The 27-year-old Scotland midfielder arrived at Villa in 2018 and has been excellent for them recently. He has formed a formidable partnership with Douglas Luiz and Jacob Ramsey at the centre of midfield and is looking to stay with the Villans in the near future.

Aston Villa recently signed two big-name players Phillipe Coutinho on loan and Lucas Digne from Everton. Aston Villa had an unforgettable first half of this season but the arrival of manager Steven Gerrard has revived their chances to finish in the top-six and new signings Coutinho and Digne will be crucial for that. Both former Barcelona players made their debut against Manchester United two days ago and impressed in a 2-2 draw at home.

Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham has established himself as one the best midfielder for the future since his emergence last season. The 18-year-0ld box-to-box midfielder has already cemented his place in England’s national team alongside Declan Rice and Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson in midfield. According to a report from The Athletic, Red Devils have made him their number one target for the summer ahead of their former target Declan Rice.

Liverpool are also strongly linked with Bellingham and are likely to win his signature next summer. Liverpool can offer regular and more Champions League football compared to their arch-rivals. Bellingham is a childhood Liverpool fan and that will be a decisive factor in the summer as both Reds and Red Devils will be having a bidding war for the former Birmingham youngster who has scored 3 goals and assisted 6 more in 17  Bundesliga matches.
