Virat Kohli played KKR match with 10 stitches on his left arm 1

Virat Kohli has been in deadly form as his T20 average is something close to 100. The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian Test captain has been going beyond outstanding. He touches greatness for his ability to play great cricket.

He scored two hundred in this IPL and is leading the run chart. At the Eden Gardens, Kohli played another beautiful innings that provoked KKR fans to cheer up for Kohli.  He scored 75 off 51 balls. He played this innings despite that fact that he had a split on his left arm while fielding. When asked why did he take this risk, Kohli said that it did not matter if he played with 10 stitches, as long as the team won and keep up their hope for qualifying for the playoff.

Kolkata Knight Riders gave an 185 runs target, but RCB chased down the target with nine wickets in hand.

That statement in itself is the hallmark of a committed cricketer. RCB need to win the remaining two games to stay in contention for a playoff berth and the 27-year-old knows how crucial his presence is both as skipper and batsman.

Kohli’s innings helped him set a new recorded for scoring the most runs in a single edition of the IPL. He now has 752, going past his own teammate Chris Gayle’s 733.

RCB are currently 5th in the points table, and with the tournament nearing its league phase, every match becomes a do-or-die situation.

Kohli’s message is clear – injured or not, he will play regardless, a true team player indeed.
